Fun Activities for Hispanic Awareness Month

Updated: Sep 6, 2018

Hispanic Awareness month starts September 15 - October 15 and we are ready to help your family get in on the fun. Participating in the city’s many festivities is a great way to celebrate how the Latino community has enriched American culture.

Here are our top 4 ways Atlantans can celebrate!

TAKE YOUR CHILD TO A BILINGUAL STORY TIME

Join Spango and Whole Foods Sandy Springs for a FREE Spango workshop. We are celebrating Hispanic Awareness month by showing your little ones that making friends with someone outside your culture is fun!  Your children will learn that we are more alike than different. A kid friendly craft, bilingual story time, and healthy snack will be provided. All levels of Spanish speakers welcome.

HEAD TO THE ATLANTA HISTORY MUSEUM

Check out NUEVOlution! Exhibit at the History Center Tuest Otcober 9, 2018 10:30-5pm for FREE!

¡NUEVOlution! Latinos and the New South explores the surprising ways that Latinos are shaping the South and the South is shaping Latinos.  Through videos, interactive displays and original artworks, the exhibition considers the complex issue of identity and historic tensions accompanying immigration. It looks at how music and culinary norms are influenced by blending cultures, and how in-migration is breathing new life into declining Southern towns, not just burgeoning cities such as Atlanta.
